Automatic crane speeds up 30-ton coils
The advantages of ground-level warehousing are the good accessibility and the low constructional requirements – especially in the case of very heavy items. However, at the same it is necessary to bridge long routes between the warehouse and the place of production. In order to shorten these, Vollert developed an intralogistics solution for a customer that offers a fast and secure flow of materials despite the high weight: this being an automatic crane for heavy loads with extremely low startup dimensions.

May 2009:
Laminates in lofty heights
Three automatic storage and retrieval machines are now operational in the new high-bay warehouse of Kronospan Schweiz AG in Menznau: the laminated and decorative panels are stored fully automatically 35 metres high – for a weight of up to 12 tons per stack.
