Shunting robots with electric drive

Energy supply via: cable drums, trailing cable systems, power rails, batteries, hybrid

This robot is the solution for uncomplicated and economic loading and shunting operations.

Reduce your personnel costs by automating your loading, transhipping or weighing processes with a shunting robot.

Further arguments for this proven Vollert technology are the high degree of availability, the low operating costs and the low amount of pollution in comparison with other solutions. Simple operation and the solid construction of the vehicles in connection with approved components ensure safe and efficient loading and shunting operations.

They are hard to beat in terms of operating and maintenance costs due to their small number of parts that have proven themselves in series production.

Our shunting robots with all-wheel drive are used in many fields of industry:

  • Power generation
  • Petrochemical industry
  • Steelworks, metal production
  • Construction materials, cement, plaster
  • Chemical industry
  • Railway operators
  • Shipbuilding industry
  • Shipping, logistics centres
  • Automotive industry
  • Wood, paper
  • Fertilisers
  • Food

An interesting alternative to Conventional Small Locos for the Loading of Bulk Material.

VOLLERT Anlagenbau in Weinsberg (Germany), who are specialized in shunting systems for siding tracks, supplied 2 shunting robots to the French energy supplier Electricité de France (EDF) for their gypsum loading station. This new automatic loading facility charges 2 semi-wagon units with 11 wagons each on two tracks. This efficient and environmentally sound solution supersedes (5 trains) 240 trucks a week. Every year, between 30,000 and 40,000 tons are transported that way from the coal-fired power station in Cordemais to the export terminal in Nantes-St. Nazai.

An interesting alternative for loading in refineries and tank farms

The company Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH in Weinsberg, Germany, which specialises in shunting systems for factory sidings, supplied two shunting robots to the ESSO refinery in Ingolstadt. The loading plant loads a half-train each on two tracks. This efficient and environmentally friendly transport solution replaces a large number of trucks.
