Testing of crane plants in compliance with BGV D6

We carry out the annual routine inspections of crane plants and lifting gear as stipulated by the German BGV D6 section 26.

In doing so, we determine whether the plant is in a safe state for work at the time of the test. Primarily, a visual and functional check is carried out, covering the following items:

• Testing of the equipment of the plant for compliance with the details in the test book.
• Testing of the state of the components and equipment with regard to damage, wear, corrosion or other changes.
• Checking for the completeness and efficacy of safety devices and the brakes.
• Function and brake test with a load in the region of the maximum-permissible loading capacity.
• Testing for the completeness of markings, labels and signs.
• Documentation of the results of the testing. Any defects that are found are noted in the test report.
• Evaluation of whether there are any reservations about the initial commissioning or further operation of the plant.
• Application of a test sticker with a note for the next test so that no tests are forgotten.
