Having joined the company in 1979, Gerhard Geist, a trained toolmaker and mechanical engineer, became chief design engineer at Vollert in 1982 and managing director in 2000. "As a thoroughbred engineer, Gerhard Geist played a key role in shaping the company's history and drove our innovation leadership in numerous projects worldwide. In addition, in 1999 he formed the bridge for the successful transition from the second to the third generation of our family business. We owe him a debt of gratitude for this and for his decades of service at the forefront," says Hans-Jörg Vollert, CEO of Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH. Over the past 40 years, Gerhard Geist truly embodied the engineering expertise that has made Vollert the market leader in many sub-sectors to this day. “Our customer projects here at Vollert are similar to those of Jules Verne: constantly inventing, testing, and constructing new things,” Geist summarized on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the long-established company in 2015.
His professional excellence, integrity, and tireless dedication not only shaped the development of our company, but also the company itself. With his passing, we have lost an outstanding leader.
