Flat storage systems place special demands on planning and design. High point and line loads require precisely dimensioned floor load-bearing capacity and well-thought-out foundation concepts. At the same time, the space requirement is considerable, as the hall height can only be used to a limited extent compared to racking solutions and safety distances must be maintained. Block storage often makes direct access difficult and increases the effort required for relocation. In addition, there are increased occupational safety requirements: heavy or towering loads must be reliably secured against tipping, rolling away, and slipping. Precise coordination of statics, material flow, organization, and safety is therefore crucial for economical and permanently safe operation.
