Steffen Schmitt has taken over the precast concrete plants division at Vollert with effect from December 1. With this personnel decision, the plant specialist is securing experience and continuity from within its own ranks. The 52-year-old native of Würzburg started in sales at Vollert back in 2007 and has extensive expertise in the engineering of complex plant technology. "Steffen Schmitt is a very competent, internationally experienced specialist and industry expert who reflects our claim to be the first point of contact for all precast projects worldwide," says Hans-Jörg Vollert, CEO of Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH.
Consistency and innovation combined
The graduate mechanical engineer has played a decisive role in shaping Vollert in recent years, not least with the successful realization of precast concrete plants in Thailand, India, Singapore and Spain, among others. Most recently responsible as Executive Sales Director for North America and South East Asia, Schmitt plans to build on this and further expand Vollert's technological leadership in these markets over the coming years. "With more than 50 years of experience in system concepts for the precast concrete industry, Vollert will continue to strive to be innovative and creative in the coming years. We will provide important impetus in the areas of decarbonization and sustainability, construction systems and digitalization - and thus continue to actively shape technology in the industry," explains Steffen Schmitt.
However, Schmitt is also focusing on achieving the strategic sales targets together with Vollert's global subsidiaries in Brazil, India, China and the USA and in this exploiting synergies. "All in active dialog with our customers. My aim is to bring the advantages of precast architecture to the construction industry in these emerging countries. It's fascinating to see large-scale construction projects from the outset, to advise customers on the latest plant technology in precast concrete production and also to take climatic conditions, seismology and building traditions into account. Ideas and designs become walls and floors and later buildings and living space for many millions of people," says Steffen Schmitt, summarizing his vision.
