SEW-Eurodrive delivering two millionth DRN motor in Germany to Vollert

SEW-Eurodrive delivered its two millionth DRN motor in Germany to Vollert in May. These IE3 motors have already achieved energy savings in excess of 50,000 GWh world-wide.

In May 2023, SEW-Eurodrive handed over its two millionth IE3 motor of the DRN series in Germany to plant specialist Vollert. The Bruchsal manufacturer has been selling its energy-saving motor from the DRN series in the premium efficiency category since 2015. All in all, ten million IE3 motors are being used successfully world-wide already, considerably reducing the required electrical primary energy by more than 50,000 Gigawatt hours as compared to the former motor series. The resulting reduction of emissions is in the range of 33 million tons of carbon dioxide.

Patrik Menges, head of sales of SEW-Eurodrive Deutschland, handed over the two millionth DRN motor to Hans-Jörg Vollert, managing shareholder of Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH, at the SEW-Eurodrive headquarters in Bruchsal. “We are happy about the strong cooperation with SEW-Eurodrive, which has continued for decades. Using the DRN motor in our machines and plants helps us contribute to our explicit climate protection goal,” explains Hans-Jörg Vollert in the scope of the handover festivities.
