Vollert India is expanding production capacities for Asia’s building industry

Vollert India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Vollert Group, is expanding its commitment in Sikandrabad near the Indian capital city of New-Delhi, increasing its production capacities for machines and components for the precast concrete industry to cover the soaring demand of the quickly growing Indian infrastructure sector.

The festive inauguration ceremony for the factory expansion took place on 26 April 2023, in the presence of Krishan Mohan Sharma, Head of India Operations, and Hans-Jörg Vollert, managing director of Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH. Guests included customers, media representatives, sales partners, suppliers, and Vollert employees.

India is of vital importance for Vollert Group

In his speech, Hans-Jörg emphasised the relevance of the expansion project, thanking everyone who contributed to its success: “It is a great honour for me to open our expanded plant in Sikandrabad. We took up sales in India in 2011 and built this plant in 2017, when our solutions met great demand. It has since become a production centre for our locally produced machines and moulding solutions, supplying not only the Indian market but also other countries of the Middle East and the South and South-Eastern Asian region. This illustrates the relevance of this production site for Vollert Group. The factory expansion is, therefore, an important milestone to increase production capacities that will allow us to expand our market share and strengthen our position in the industry.

After Vollert supplied mostly the residential construction segment in India so far, they are now also tackling the infrastructure segment, e.g., roads and high-speed railway routes. The Indian construction industry keeps on developing, increasingly using new building technologies to build more quickly and in better quality. “Since business is picking up again following the Covid pandemic, we have decided to expand our local engineering capacities and to build an independent local engineering unit here in Sikandrabad,” Krishan Mohan Sharma explains. “The new production facilities are at the state of the art and optimised for the work processes. That is not the end of our journey, however. We are going to invest further in this business year. For example, we have planned to set up a new blasting and painting cabin.”

Thanks to the management team of Vollert India

At the moment, tilting tables, stationary mouldings such as carrier and beam moulds, as well as mouldings for infrastructure products are being produced there. Local production on site allows Vollert to offer a competitive price-performance ratio as compared to imports since high customs duties are avoided and the machines can be produced and delivered to the construction sites without delay.

Hans-Jörg Vollert thanked Krishan Mohan Sharma, who has been managing the subsidiary since mid-2022, for his hard work, commitment, and continuous efforts for leading the brand name of Vollert to success in India. He also thanked the management team at Vollert India. “Each and every one of you is working with great commitment to bring Vollert to success in India, doing their best at work every single day. Our greatest gratitude goes to our customers, who are vital in this process, as well as to our suppliers, friends, and partners who gave us their support in the last few years.”
