Steel, copper and co. for the world

Sheet metals, coils, tubes, and wires of steel and copper are basic materials for many industries, either from automotive production, construction, or medicine technology. Before further processing into the end product, many processing steps are necessary in advance.

Crane and lifting technology for the steel and metal industry

For several decades, material flow and storage systems for many renowned manufacturers from the steel and metal industry, including ThyssenKrupp and MKM, have been among our core competences.

From high-performance automatic crane systems in steel tube production at Vallourec & Mannesmann, a special copper wire storage crane at MKM, or a sheet metal transport crane at SSAB in Sweden: Vollert's technology ensures optimal intralogistics processes. Diverse, and in part highly sensitive, materials up to 100 t are lifted, transported, turned, tilted, and stored here. This makes every intralogistics concept unique.

Crane systems for sheet metal and steel coils

In order to press body parts for automobiles or aircraft or to produce washing machines, kitchen appliances and sanitary fittings economically, the material flows and storage times of the necessary sheet metal and steel coils must be optimally designed. Not only must all transport routes and warehouse management be integrated, the often very sensitive materials must also find their way from A to B without damage. Downtimes or damaged intermediate products are expensive. The automation of the processes and other factors play the main role here.

Wire Spool Cranes

Copper and steel wire plays an important role in the entire industry. This is well illustrated by the example of the automotive industry - especially when it comes to electromobility. Even in conventional automotive engineering, up to six kilometers of cable are used in the vehicle electrical system alone. And in the next few years the proportion of copper in modern automotive concepts will increase noticeably. In hybrid vehicles, the proportion is twice as high. Automated crane systems ensure smooth transport and important intermediate storage processes - a decisive factor for high plant productivity.

Pipe handling cranes

Metal pipes are used in power plant construction, in the chemical and petrochemical industry or in oil and gas fields. In pipe production, crane systems form an important interface between the individual intermediate storage areas and the rolling and processing areas. The metal pipes are transported in cassettes. Spreaders with twist-lock locking on the trolley pick them up. A high degree of automation, modern positioning systems and material flow computers, which ensure that the distribution is either sorted by type or order-bundled, are just some of the factors required for smooth 24/7 operation.
